How Negative Expectations Destroy Your Online Business

When it comes to starting an online business, people often get really excited because of all the promises of millions of dollars easily earned, and the cars, clothes, and hot girls they will get as a result. Some people even get hung up on the fame.

And while all of those things are a direct bi-product of owning a successful online business, hardly any of them come true for the majority of people who try to build them, and its because of one thing…NEGATIVE EXPECTATIONS!

You see, there is this kind of lottery player mentality that circles around the newbies in the Internet Marketing industry. That somehow, the reason the big bad “Internet Gurus” are so successful is because they have this secret software system that they all share amongst themselves, but never release to the public.

That’s why you see so many of these “Overnight Riches” systems where you can “Make A Million In 3 Clicks” are bought like wildfire. Often times because they are pitched as a leaked Internet Gurus top secret software.

When in fact, the typical case is just a bunch of Ivy League brats came up with some crazy scheme to pitch a load of fluff to your face and sell you some half assed software system that doesn’t even work, no matter how well you follow instructions.

So you know what, you can’t really blame the Internet Marketing Newbies for having this Lottery Mindset because when they first come into the game, that’s often all they see, and all that is put in front of them.

Then they buy it, realize it was a total sham, and then it creates this kind of resentful feeling against the rest of the industry.

Well, you should know that there ACTUALLY ARE great products out there, and that you really can make millions, even multimillions in less than 24 hours.

But the thing is, what you don’t know, is how much work went on for years behind the scenes to allow something like that to be possible.

Either way, if you’ve been taken advantage of before, its not your fault. Its the Gurus fault for suckering you into something that wasted your hard earned money.

What you need to look for is people in online business who have real integrity and real honestly and transparency about their businesses and how easy it can be for you to achieve true success when you follow the right people.

Running an Online Business Leads to Massive Stress

People who run an online business could be suffering from significant amounts of stress without realising it. A new study of stressful occupations has some surprising results, but most people running an online business combine four of the top 10 stressful jobs into one single occupation. Running your own online business could well be a recipe for personal disaster – unless you take care.

According to the research, the most stressful job in the world is being a soldier. That makes sense – how well would you cope with the knowledge that as you walk down the road in Afghanistan you could be blown to bits? The constant threat of death whilst you go about your job cannot be an easy thing to work with. The research found that the least stressful jobs in the world were largely those involved in healthcare. When you talk to doctors, nurses and other health specialists they often complain of job related stress – but this could well be balanced out by the fact that they are doing what they love, caring for others. The rewards of that care reduce the impact of the stress.

However, online business folk appear to be in a rather stressful situation. Four of the most stressful jobs in the world are corporate executive, public relations executive, event co-ordinator and photojournalist. All of these roles are combined into one for the many people who run their own online company. These individuals are the boss, the person responsible for promoting the company, the one who organises the firm’s events and the blogger..! Is it any wonder that with more and more people running their own online business – even part time – that doctors are reporting ever higher incidences of stress-related illnesses?

So, if you run an online business, how can you spot whether or not stress is affecting you? Here are the sure-fire signs you are stressed:

  • Irritability
  • Apathy and general lack of interest
  • Clock-watching
  • Reduced social activity
  • Tiredness

At first sight these seem pretty benign. But someone who is not stressed tends to want to work, they enjoy being with colleagues, they are not really aware of the time passing by because they are enjoying themselves and they get a good night’s sleep. And do not believe those people who tell you that “some stress is good for you”. That is just nonsense. Research consistently shows that stress LOWERS performance. In other words, online business owners who are stressed out by working on the web are actually able to perform less well in business than they think.

Studies also show that people often think they are less stressed than is the case. People tend to underestimate the stress they are under and to mistake the symptoms for things which are “normal”. This means that many people running online businesses could be under much more stress than they think.

Stress is damaging; it leads to rises in hormones which if present in consistently high amounts can be physically harmful. Stress leads to heart disease, digestive problems and has even been implicated in reducing our ability to cope with cancer. It is therefore vital that if you run an online business you recognise the stress symptoms you may be suffering and take steps to reduce the impact of your online work. Ultimately that means planning your day better, not responding to every email, Tweet or Facebook discussion and taking yourself away from the computer – and your smartphone – for several hours.

Think of Your Website As an Investment

Starting anything new people usually have jitters. Rather it be going to college for the first time, opening a store for the first time, or going on a first date. Well starting a website is no different. I remember when I first started my website I thought what if it doesn’t work… what if I am simply wasting time, money, and resources? I had that mindset for quite sometime until I started reading one of Warren Buffet’s books and he made the statement… in the business world, the rearview mirror is always clearer than the windshield. His knowledge and experience showed me that if I don’t take the risk of at least trying I would never truly know what could have been. At that point I realized I was not just starting a website I was starting an investment. An investment that would hopefully open door after door of opportunity leading me closer and closer to every goal, or dream, that I ever had. Everybody has their reasons, some want more money and others simply want the joys and self-satisfaction of being able to be their own boss. The reason for wanting to start is insignificant all that matters is that you are willing to take those first steps to success. In this article I will talk about why this is an important mindset to have and why it has helped me get out of bed early or stay up late to help with my investment. The mindset of my website being an investment is one of my main driving forces as well as seeing people like you go for it.

The Truth Behind Website Investments and Pregame Jitters

An investment…put in laments terms is something you put x amount into and expect to get x+y amount back. Which is exactly what you can obtain by setting up a monetized website. Many people look at investments as simply: buying stock, flipping houses, or buying something and selling it for more…I’m here to tell you to “open your eyes” to more options. In today’s day and age investments come in many forms and packages. An online website is just one of the many “new age” investments. At this point I am going to assume you have decided you wanted to create a website and you are probably extremely nervous, reluctant, and quite possibly doubtful of if you can do it. I am here to tell you the first biggest obstacle to get over is that little voice of doubt in your head. I can attest to the nervousness and doubt because not only did I have it when I first started but people around also doubted my work and endless hours spent drinking coffee and working away on the computer. Which brings me to point two… there are people in life who will push you and then there are people who will pull you back or even bring you down. I would suggest using those people as a driving force of your own just to prove them wrong. I even bet one day they might want to learn a few things from you!

Once You Get Over The Jitters

Getting over the jitters is an important stage because now you have the gears turning but you don’t want to burn out like people typically do with New Year’s Resolutions. This is the time to harness your “power” and keep pushing with deciding many different things. Some things to think about are:

  • What should my site be about?
  • What am I going to name my site?
  • Do I have a product or do I want to be an affiliate(getting a commission)?
  • What are my goals and projections?
  • What niche should my website be about?
  • Do I need to ask anyone for help?

Please note these are only a few things to be thinking about but notice I didn’t put things like what if I fail and other negative questions like that. The reason for this is because at this stage you are going to be fairly new with all the ins and outs so it is very important you stay optimistic and ask for help when needed. You never want to skip over something and not truly understand it. Someday you may want multiple websites and it is best you understand everything right off the bat. I actually rushed through my first website creating course and realized I had to take it again to truly understand everything. Just remember if you can’t take time to do it right the first time what makes you think you will have time to do it a second time? Wish I would have thought of that the first time… lesson learned!

How to Get Ripped Off Online

The point of this article is to help users protect themselves from being victims of internet scams. The approach taken is only a way to recognize a user’s vulnerability on the internet. The author does not in any way promote scams or rip-offs on the internet (or in life).

If you don’t take proper precaution when browsing the internet, you will be the next victim of a scam – and with the new ways hackers are looking to deceive their victims, it’s important to make sure you’re safe from every act of cyber-crime.

Despite the numerous times internet security experts warn victims about the dire threats of online attacks, many consumers still don’t get the message. The fact is, it can happen to anybody – including YOU. Therefore, I have decided to take a ‘reverse psychology’ approach in hopes that it makes users think about their internet safety.

Sure-fire ways to get ripped-off on the internet

As a child, I would lose everything. No matter the importance of the item, it was bound to get lost. I started to learn my lesson when my mother encouraged me to lose things. She would euphemize scenarios revolving around losing items. Instead of giving me prevention tips, she gave me tips on how to lose things. Eventually, her sarcasm taught me to be more careful with my items as losing things wasn’t fun at all.

Piggy-backing off my mother’s sarcasm, if you want to be the net victim of internet fraud, here’s how you can do it!

Make an easy password and use it for all of your accounts!

Want to increase your chances of becoming a victim of a cyber-crime? Make an easy password so hackers can guess it! Passwords like ’123456′ or ‘ABCDEF’ are the easiest to crack. Once you’ve created an easy password, make sure you use it for ALL of your online accounts so you it’s easier to remember!

Say NO to anti-virus software!

Don’t even think about protecting your computer from viruses and trojans! A lack of anti-virus software will ensure that once trojans are on your computer, they stay there. These stealthy guys can record all of your personal information. If you have anti-virus software, do not update the definitions! How else will new viruses have access to your files?

Turn off that firewall!

A firewall will protect your computer from any unauthorized users (hackers). If you want to become a victim of an internet attack, it’s vital you turn off your firewall! If you wanted your house to get robbed, would you lock the door? The same concept applies on the internet!

Open e-mail attachments from people you don’t know!

Trojans are often in mysterious e-mail attachments. Scamming takes place right after you open them – especially the ones from people you don’t know! The best part is once the attachment is open, the virus secretly crawls around your computer, without you even knowing it’s there!

If it looks too good to be true, it’s true!

You will see tons of pop-ups and links from hackers who are looking to obtain your personal information. These promotions will say things such as “Win a Free iPad 2″ or “Dieting Secret That Will Make You Lose 20 Pounds in 2 Days!” At first, you may seem skeptical, but click on the links. You’ll fall victim to an online attack when you receive nothing but a virus!

Download pirated software!

Not only is it illegal to download pirated software, but most of these programs contain viruses and other potentially dangerous identity attacks. What better way to have your personal information revealed and your identity stolen then downloading a malicious attack? It’s that easy!

Everyone on the internet should be trusted!

The internet is filled with caring people who really want to help you out. If you get e-mails, chat room messages or instant messages from someone you don’t know asking for your bank information, give it to them! They will help you in your scamming efforts fast!

Use public networks to make financial transactions!

Another way to fall victim to a cyber-crime is to pay your bills from a public computer! When the computer asks if you want to save your passwords, click YES! This will ensure that the next person sees your account numbers! There’s a great chance many people will see your personal information, thus, bettering your chances!

Creative Ways To Make Extra Money Online For Free

First off, working online is really no different then what you would do offline to start generating cash. You need a sound plan of attack and hopefully a good idea to follow through with. Don’t worry about what everybody else say’s you should be doing! Most of these online guru’s make money selling ideas versus actually putting an effort into doing it!

The basic principles of business apply for work being done online just as in the so-called real world. Find a product people are searching for and make it available to them. Sounds easy right? Yes but just about everyone and their mother is trying to do this exact same thing. It’s called affiliate marketing and I am sure you have heard of it. If not, you will soon enough and we will even provide some ideas how to do this right here.

How To Make Affiliate Marketing Work

Don’t do what everyone else is doing! The fact is, too many people are trying to sell the same stuff and the market is way to crowded with competition. You need to find a niche that people are looking for but is not so thick with competition that your marketing will get lost amongst the other millions of pages.

One place to understand what people need is Yahoo! Answers. This is a website where people post questions and try to get answers. This can give you ideas of what people are searching for and may help you find a niche that is not so widely used. Did you know that almost anything you can imagine has an affiliate program online now?

What are you good at? Well it really doesn’t matter but type it into Google and add affiliate program. Most likely you will find a site where you can sign up and get paid to sell for them. If you are already very familiar with this product or idea, selling it by writing high quality content and posting it to your blog or article directories will get you off to a running start.

How To Sell Your Affiliate Products

This is supposed to be the hardest part to being an online affiliate marketer. Many people do struggle but mostly this is because they over complicate things. I know I sure did when I first started.

If you are short on cash just run over to Blogger and get a free blog. Choose a title and URL that is on them with what you will be selling. Then go to the Google AdWords keyword tool and type your topic into the search bar. Look at the results and then use the longest terms as you post titles and keywords which are sprinkled through your content you write.

Within your post build a link here and there back to your affiliate offers. You can easily do this by highlighting the words you would like to use as a link. A link box will pop up, then just add the link which was provided by your affiliate program. That’s it, your done! Copy and paste the address bar url and go place it on a few bookmark sites. You can also share it with fans on Twitter and Facebook for more exposure.

It can take a few months to start seeing some really good results but just stick with it! The more often you update your blog and articles, the better chance of ranking high in the search engines. This means more traffic for your site, which in turns equals more sales for you!

Join Some Forums About Your Niche

This may sound time consuming and boring but is a great way to understand what people within your market need and how they look for it. You will also be able to give some guidance (as you are an expert) that could eventually lead people to your sales page. Remember to add a link back to your site in the profile section. Just do not go on there and push your products. The people who need them will find them once you have become a trusted member of the forum.

Top Features of Virtual Offices for Every Businessman

Small and medium enterprises are rapidly growing in Malaysia. As these companies need to expand and stay on top of the competition, they look for ways to get a corporate edge. One of the solutions is creating client trust by getting a virtual office. Not only will it give you a prestigious business location, it also offers professional services at affordable rates.

Here are some features of a virtual office you should look into when selecting the right one for your business:

- Boardrooms for conference rooms

As a businessman, you would naturally need a professional work environment where you can hold urgent and important meetings. Your service provider should inform you of available boardrooms and business lounges you can use.

This is an advantage because knowing the schedule and rates beforehand allows you to arrange meetings in a hassle-free way. This is important for occasions when you need to win investor confidence. You can use the boardroom when presenting important reports such as profit reports or business expansion. This is a lot better as opposed to holding your meeting in a coffee shop or a restaurant where there are too many distractions around.

- Phone and message support

A dependable virtual office in Malaysia offers phone and message assistance to answer important business calls. Make sure you choose a service provider with a professional and dedicated team.

When you get this service, you will have trained personnel who will use your company name and relay all in-coming messages to you as soon as possible. It doesn’t matter what country you are in, your answering personnel will make sure you get messages wherever you are.

Make sure your virtual office has efficient personnel who can manage it. They should answer calls and messages properly and avoid incidences such as missed appointments and lost messages. Remember, you will need to keep client confidence at all times. This feature will help you establish your brand name and strengthen client credibility.

- Rental office offerings

You can look for virtual offices that offer office space for rent if you are thinking of getting a corporate headquarters. This will give you a smooth transition from being a small business to having a permanent business address. This feature also allows the company continued operations even if you do not have a physical office space as of the moment.

Remember to ask your service provider about the payment methods and rates for fully furnished offices. Serviced and fully furnished offices usually lessen worries on maintenance as the rental company takes care of the cleaning and upkeep services for you.

Ask about the duration of the lease if you are worried about the payments. You can choose to get a monthly renewable lease for better payment flexibility.

Remember, you will be required to sign a legal contract when you rent a virtual office in Malaysia. Make sure you read the documents carefully and ask the leasing company if there are parts that confuse you. You can have the contract revised and written in English so both parties can set their expectations clearly.
